Welcome to Year 1!

We’re so happy to have you here and have loved getting to know you all over these past few days. We cannot wait for all the fun that we’re going to have this year!

As the children enter into year 1, to continue to encourage their independence; please support us by ensuring that you drop and pick your children up from the bottom of the Year 1/2 steps. If you need to speak to us, where possible, please grab me at the end of the day, as it is important that I am available to meet and settle the children in the morning. If you ever have any questions, queries, or something you would just like to discuss; please let us know and we will find a convenient time to talk. A problem shared is a problem halved, I truly believe that we are a team, working together to help our children thrive.

Year 1 is a little different to Busy Bees as we introduce more formal learning, we will do this sensitively, over time, taking into account the children’s age and specific needs. To keep up to date with all of our learning, please follow us on X (formally Twitter). In addition, Google Classroom is used to share learning opportunities that you can do at home, so please keep an eye out! If you’re unable to access Google Classroom, another login sheet will be sent home in the next week or so.

We will have lots of opportunities over the year for you to come into school and engage in learning with your child, please take advantage of these opportunities, they really are so valuable for our little people.
